Elastomeric gaskets provide varying temperature and chemical resistance depending on the type of elastomers used. These gaskets have relatively soft compressoin characteristics and can show good sealing performance even under low stress load. |
Natural rubber possesses several excellent mechanical properties. This has good tear and abrsion resistance, high resilience and good low temperature flexibility. Natural rubber is Limited by low chemical resistance to sunlight and ozene, which cause cracking and the restricted temperature rang. Temperature Range : -50 ℃ to 100 ℃ |
This best known CR is Neoprene. Neoprene is superior to NR and SBR in its ozone and wather resistance. Neoprene also has a degree of resistance to petrol, mineral oils and other hydrocarbons and can be made flame resistant. Temperature Range : -50 ℃ to 130 ℃ |
This synthetic rubber is especially resistant to mineral oils, aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons and alcoholsdepending on the actual nitrile content of the elastomer.High and low temperature performance can be good. Temperature Range : -50 ℃ to 120 ℃ |
EPDM has good mechanical properties and resistant to ageing, weathering, ozone, owygen, steam and water. It is espercially resistant to phosphate ester based hydrulic fluids but is not recommended with petroleum base fluids. Temperature Range : -50 ℃ to 150 ℃ |
This synthetic rubber can be regarded as a general replacement for natural rubber except where certain mechanical properties are required. Not recommended for petroleum oils owing to its high swell when exposed to them also. It is not recommended for exposure to sunlight. Temperature Range : -50 ℃ to 120 ℃ |
Fluorinated rubbers cope well with petrol, oils, chlorinated solvents, concemtrated alkalis and fuming acids. Ozone and weather resistance are excellent. Fluorinated rubbers have poor low temperature flexibility and should not be used with certain esters or ketones. Temperature Range : -20℃ to 300 ℃ |
